MASAK'CRE.
An excerpt from the Masaka Massacre a Black Lines Poetry Collection compiled and Authored by Nagwere Gerald.
R.I.P father,it reads.
Epitaphs of the fallen marked in code.
When will this genocide end?
They die today,
Tomorrow they are buried.
For it is of no use to keep them up.
For God will guide them up.
Has it become a curse to be born
In Masaka?
Has it become a right to be victims of the Massacre?
The land of coffee and Matooke,
Has become land of the slaughtered and blood...
Our precious home is no longer home.
It is a den of dead bodies.
"East or West, home is best"-
Will never be,
And I know how worse it is-
A father slaughtered today,a mother buried tomorrow.
"DEATH TOLL REACHES 30" -
They say,
Yet they do nothing...
They just wait for lamps of rupees for "investigation" .
Thank you -Enjoy...
Enjoy the news headlines,
Enjoy Masak'cre headlines.
Enjoy the genocide.
Blame it on Politics...
Blame it on what you think...
Blame it on what they say,
For we need Justice not a politi-que.
