(Ode to Brave Poets)
My name is Ochago, 
I am a Ugandan Poet,
I am a tall poet.
I am not a slam poet,
I am a brave poet.
I don't write short poems or whole poems,
I write brave poems.

I am a poet,
I don't write love poems or sad poems.
I am not a mad poet.
But I write late night poems.

I is not a political poet,
I write poems that speak my mind.
Poems that make me feel I mind,
Because every poet doesn't mind,
About what is on ground. 

I write poems for tall Poets,
Who write short poems,
I write for short Poets 
Who write short poems
Because they fear their own poems. 

I am not an aggressive Poet,
Though I am a brutally Honest Poet,
I am not a scared poet,
I am a worried poet-
Worried about people who can't write a brave poem.

I am just a poet,
Too tired watching people suffer from the pains
They can't run away from.
The pain inflicted by the people in governance.
That's why I is a Tired Poet.

When a Man Cries,  Male chauvinists Refer to him as a woman- It is a taboo for a man to shed tears. In my society, A man has to cry deep inside, He has to keep the pain under his chest- For he is a stone of diamond. Women in my community Make fun of men who shed tears in public- For they are as weak as sisters, They should be awarded with breasts. Its people, warriors of pride and grace, Longing for justice in their sacred space. Karamojong, their spirit unyielding, Amidst the hardships, their hearts keep beating. For too long, their cries have been unheard, It's time to unite and spread the word. Karamoja, a land of struggle and strife, Where hunger pierces the fabric of life. Yet amidst despair, hope lingers on, From dusk till dawn, till a brighter morn. Let us gather the fragments of their dreams, Stitch them together like rivers and streams, To nourish their souls with compassion's embrace, And restore the dignity of Karamojong race. Together, let's shout from the mountaintops high, "Karamoja Lives Matter!" in the endless sky. Let love and justice be our guiding light, To uplift Karamoja, to make things right. POEM 604.

📸Getty images. Just like a Pregnant Gecko I sat, sniffing the odour of ink, Not realising, my palm is actually pink. From a distance,  I felt the smell of a wet metal  Owning my nostrils like I am part of the betrayal.  Poem 604, I wrote my lines- bit-by-bit, My nose didn't settle for a bit. I saw a beautiful girl-sitted a distance away, Her eyes filled with shame,  Her heart scared of shame. She had the odour of a wet metal,  Blood had run beyond her underwear. She had nothing to 'wear'. Poem 604 Was my first love poem, But I got me crying.  What about my money? What if I wrote philanthropy? What if I wrote about loving? Poem 604, I wrote my lines with grief Because my nose didn't settle.  When will my sisters get what to wear? What if they left school because of blunder? What if they get lured by my cycling brother?
