February 9th

Image
(Ode To Gloria). Dear Ria, You may forgive me if I didn't start with greetings, Forgive my tone - I am just torn. Before I heard the scheduled alarm, I was writing another political poem - A Poem on a harassed nation. Forgive me for that. Forgive me for delaying- writing to you  a birthday Poem - The least I can do in this economy. Why am I writing these, This should be your happiest moment. Happy Birthday Ria, To more years of being real, To more years of smiling together, To more years of burning old ships. Let every February 9th be eventful. Ria, I can't say much now  And it is your day, Enjoy it in Peace 🤭. © George William Ochago. @George The Tired Poet. February 9th, 2026 09:40am #PromptPoetry #PoeticMondays #BirthdayPoem

A Riot Of Stars

📸 I don't Own any Rights. Model : Hannah A Riot Of Stars. ( Ode to Hannah ) Hannah, your name sounds like a Kadodi drum  Struck on top of Wanale Hill,   There where the sun spills golden rays over the hill,   And the air carries the scent of coffee.   Your laughter— Oh, it is a sudden riot of stars,   Scattering light across my shadowy day.   I see you in the way River Manafwa moves,   Steady but wild, carving paths no one expects.   This isn’t just another year, Hannah.   It’s you, growing sharper, brighter,   Like the weaver bird’s nest,   Defying gravity, weaving wonders from straws.   Your eyes hold stories—   Of matoke and malewa,   Of late-night talks,   Of dreams that dance like Arms Of the Mbale Clock Tower.   Today, I don’t wish you candles or a cake,   But moments that taste like your courage, ...

Birth Of Libra

Image
(Ode to Hana). Happy birthday, gentle soul, Your heart is as pure as falling snow. Soft-spoken, a caring soul, A shining balefire, for all to know. Your presence inspires my poetic rhymes, A muse that sparks poetry in me. In quiet moments, I think to write, Poems that I think will last, I am sorry if I am not right. May this day bring joy, love, and memories, Painting beauty that shines for ages. Here's to another year of laughter, dreams, And the warmth of friendship that forever beams. Celebrate this special day,  Hana, With love, appreciation, and heartfelt mana. You deserve more and more, Like a cherished treasure, forever in store. Happy birthday, dear Hana. I would write more lines if I had the power, For now, allow me say Hallelujah Hosanna- For it is your day. Happy Birthday Libra Queen. © George William Ochago  @George The Tired Poet. -Oct 1st, 2024 #PoeticTuesdays.
